Water and Sewer Fees and Tap Fees

Water and sewer rates effective January 1, 2021:

  • Business Leak Billing System: If Commercial Businesses develop water leaks and the sewer billing includes volume from a leak that the Town Staff can confirm did not enter the sewer system, Town Staff may determine an appropriate charge for the monthly billing based upon prior usages.
  • Wastewater Rate for Industrial Discharge: Each Industrial Discharge Permit Holder shall pay in addition to the rate based on gallonage per sewer rates above, a fee of $.50 per pound BOD up to their permit limit.  A Portable John Wastewater Discharge user will be charged at the rate of $70.00 per 1,000 gallons. A Septic Wastewater Discharge user will be charged $150.00 per load of undigested discharge and $175.00 per 1000 gallons of digested discharge.
  • Reconnect Fee: The fee for turning water off or on, after regular working hours, weekends, or holidays shall be $100.00.  If the water is turned off due to non-payment, the amount owed the town plus an additional $50.00 must be paid in full before the water is reconnected.
  • Late Notice Fee:  $15.00 Late Notice Fee if a notice tag is placed before payment.
  • Returned check fee: $25.00 applied to the account.
  • Late Fee:  Late fee will be set at 10%. Late fees will be applied to the account balance five days after the due date.
  • Installation Fees: Fees for installation of water and sewer services for citizens purchasing a water/sewer tap in addition to cost of water/sewer tap shall be $650.00 for a 3/4” tap.    Installation fees for taps above 3/4” shall be determined by time and material.
